Txtsurfer is founded on October 13, 2006 by Paul Richard C. Bengua, a Filipino industrial engineer and an Overseas Foreign Worker (OFW) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia together with a reputable mentor and friend in his young years. Working in a foreign country where everything else is starkly different from one's own can surely bring about confusion, boredom or even loneliness. Certainly, having experienced himself confusion, boredom and loneliness in the early months of his stay in Arabia, he engaged in an activity that honed not only his computing abilities but also his web designing skills. Luckily for him this activity became a therapy too to his homesick heart in a strange and faraway land.

His penchant for computers made him spent long hours in internet cafes and began connecting himself with his family and friends from the different parts of the world. Amazingly, this activity gave him the fullest satisfaction and fulfillment that he decided to construct a website, initially, with a sole purpose: to bring the OFW's closer to their friends and love ones back home and elsewhere amidst the cruelty of distance.

The creation of Txtsurfer was perfect because it rendered the founder the opportunity to actualize his long-cherished philosophy accurately articulated by Bryan S. Hinckley, one of the pioneers of the American West, who stated that:

"Service is the virtue that distinguished the great of all times and which they will be remembered by."

He went on to say:

"How much better it is to give than to receive. To give encouragement, to impart sympathy, to show interest, to banish fear, to build self confidence and awaken hope in the hearts of others, in short - to love them and to show it - is to render the most precious service."

For the founder, service is his greatest source of joy and fulfillment. He believes that there is so much every person in this world can do to render service, to make a positive difference in this world. For him creating Txtsurfer is the perfect avenue for serving mankind because it doesn't only make deep connections of people, it really touches lives.
